Jannet Dolin, owner of Jalapenos & Tomatoes Catering, Inc., was born and raised in Acapulco, Mexico. Jannet's lifelong appreciation for authentic Mexican cuisine and her joy of cooking began at a young age inspired by her family and cultural background.
Growing up in a traditional Mexican family, Jannet enjoyed delicious homemade enchiladas for breakfast, tacos for lunch and spicy mole for dinner. Her fondest food memories include weekly trips to the market for fresh seafood and produce, and spending hours in the kitchen recreating authentic dishes to feed her younger siblings.
Jannet earned a Bachelor of Business and Tourism degree at the University of Guerrero, Mexico. She gained valuable experience working in the hospitality industry. Jannet worked for national and international hotel chains as a Special Event Planner and Food & Beverage Coordinator.
Jannet moved to Chicago in 1998 to pursue a career in hospitality and is currently living on the North Shore with her husband and two children. She embraces homemade cooking at it's finest and finds culinary inspiration in family and friends.
In 2011, Jannet’s lifelong passion for Mexican food, culture and traditions motivated her to start Jalapenos & Tomatoes Catering, Inc. Her mission is to provide the most authentic, flavorful dishes from the heart of Mexico.
